INDIA ALLAN

Associate, Interior Designer

Driven by triple-bottom-line outcomes, the three pillars of economic, social and environmental sustainability are at the core of India’s approach to design.

She creates environments in which the occupants thrive socially, physically and mentally. This is backed by her further study and research into design for wellbeing and sustainability.

India has a depth of knowledge gained from years of experience working in Australia, UK and Netherlands across commercial and workplace interiors, health, education and secure facilities. She brings a collaborative and integrated design approach to respect the individual strengths of everyone involved. Sustainability underpins her selection of products and materials, with consideration given to ethical sourcing, recyclability, repurposing, renewables and durability, as well as the pollution and energy consumption resulting from their manufacture and transportation.

India gives careful consideration to each project, creating a unique expression of its users, climate and context. This sense of identity and place is further enhanced through the supporting of local crafts, designers, artists and manufacturers. The result is flexible and adaptive design that responds to our everchanging world and its inhabitants.
