Tanunda Medical Centre brings together a collection of previously dispersed buildings into a contemporary purpose-built healthcare facility designed to support the practice’s continued growth and the evolving needs of the Barossa community. Working with Mykra and the practice team, Grieve Gillett Architects developed a master plan and delivered the design and documentation of the new centre while maintaining operations on the existing site.

The facility provides 20 consulting rooms, treatment and procedure suites, pathology collection, nurse stations, sterilisation facilities, accessible consulting spaces and dedicated infection-control areas. Careful planning supports efficient clinical workflows, future service expansion and compliance with contemporary healthcare standards.

A warm, welcoming patient experience was central to the design. Natural light, local stone, timber finishes and soft materials create a domestic-scale environment that balances clinical requirements with comfort and wellbeing. The result is a modern regional medical centre that reflects its Barossa setting while providing high-quality healthcare infrastructure for the community.
