DION BYAS

Associate, Senior Architect

Dion brings a wealth of expertise to his role, with a 25-year career specialising in education, residential and commercial sectors. He has delivered projects varying in scale from bespoke refurbishments to major infrastructure for government, private and PPP clients. With expertise in detailed design and contract administration, he is highly regarded for his thorough approach to project delivery.

Dion is adept at responding to complex technical requirements and specific guidelines for specialist typologies such as warehousing, manufacturing and social housing. He is highly skilled in Revit and is committed to improving GGA’s documentation efficiency and accuracy. A skilled communicator and mentor, Dion enjoys working collaboratively with clients, colleagues and contractors to achieve strong outcomes.

An active member of Learning Environments Australasia, Dion contributes to broader industry discussions on education design. This dedication to research-backed design has seen him shape learning environments that double as community hubs, with integrated cultural and recreational facilities. Motivated by the positive impact architecture can have on people’s everyday lives, he is passionate about creating spaces that inspire joy and a sense of belonging.
