GGA STUDIO

AN ARTFUL WORKPLACE FOR COLLABORATION AND CREATIVITY
GGA transformed our heritage premises into a flexible, gallery-style studio that showcases an evolving art collection. Refurbishing our existing office, the design retains exposed timber trusses and painted brickwork to celebrate its industrial past, while creating a welcoming workplace that reflects the culture and creativity of the practice.
The refurbishment reimagined how the studio functions, supporting connected and agile working through hot-desking, lockers, breakout spaces and enhanced videoconferencing technology. Using the existing footprint, efficient workspaces and storage accommodate a growing team, dedicated materials library and expanded staff amenities. Working closely with artists, makers and specialist consultants, the studio incorporates bespoke elements including JamFactory-designed reception furniture, a custom rug and curated spaces for displaying artwork.
Staff wellbeing and sustainability were central to the design. A reuse-first approach minimised demolition and construction waste through the retention of existing building fabric and materials. New lighting, acoustic treatments and sit-stand workstations improve comfort and ergonomics, complemented by bicycle storage and end-of-trip facilities. Defined by an unexpected steel frame, the larger kitchen at the heart of the studio encourages connection and workplace culture.
