Rosary School in Adelaide was selected an entrant in the 2025 SA Architecture Awards in the Education category. The school is being recognised for its design and contribution to enhance the learning environment for students.
The awards, presented by the Australian Institute of Architects, South Australian Chapter, celebrate architectural excellence in various categories, including Public Architecture and Educational Architecture.
Undergoing a remarkable "vertical transformation," creating a multi-story primary school that innovatively addresses the challenge of limited space in an urban setting, this unique design not only accommodates various learning environments, including a music room and outdoor learning areas across three levels, but also significantly increases green space and diverse play opportunities for students.
The architectural approach thoughtfully integrates the building into its residential surroundings through creative design elements, while a central lift well subtly encourages a sense of contemplation, aligning with the school's Dominican heritage.
Rosary School is also listed as an entrant in the EmAGN (Emerging Architects and Graduates Network) Project Award.
Located in the City of Prospect, Adelaide. Kaurna Land.
