WILDERNESS SCHOOL COACH HOUSE JUNIOR PRIMARY DEVELOPMENT

A WHIMSICAL BUILDING DESIGN TO SPEARK IMAGINATION IN YOUNG LEARNERS
At Wilderness School’s Coach House, the familiar yet deconstructed form of home provides a welcoming and nurturing environment for junior primary students beginning their schooling. Child-centred learning unfolds across the cluster of rooms, generous central collaborative spaces, specialist rooms and outdoor environments.
Founded in the belief that belonging and learning are linked, the warm, timber-rich interiors invite connection and calm around a central fireplace or in sheltered nooks. Meanwhile, lofty internal spaces, whimsical design elements, seamless outdoor connection, extensive landscaping and a maker space promote play and imagination.
The two-storey Coach House is designed to sit comfortably in the surrounding residential context, while establishing a new significant campus entry feature. Devised as part of staged master plan, the Coach House and its Piazza form a crucial central campus link, connecting the new ELC, fully renovated Margaret Brown House and OSHC to deliver enhanced services for the school community.
