PEOPLE

James Gillett Grieve Gillett Architects-bw.jpg

An established Graduate of Architecture, James has experience across defence, secure facilities, education, health, infrastructure and commercial projects. He has contributed to large-scale and complex environments, bringing a balance of technical rigour and creativity to projects. His focus is on designing purposeful spaces that respond to client needs while supporting lasting outcomes.

James has contributed to the concept and documentation phases of major projects, while also valuing the opportunity that smaller-scale work provides to engage directly with end users. He adds clarity to projects using a variety of communication methods including sketching, physical models and photorealistic renders.

He believes good design should feel seamless, integrating sustainability and performance from the outset. James champions sustainability in all of his projects, growing his understanding of relevant tools and calculators and embedding these principles into his design process. Adelaide-born and raised, he has a strong personal connection to the city and is committed to shaping a built environment that future generations can be proud of.
