REGIS PARKSIDE
CONTEMPORARY, LANDSCAPE-LED CARE ENVIRONMENT FOR PARKSIDE COMMUNITY RESIDENTS
Regis Parkside Aged Care is a new 156-bed residential aged care facility designed to deliver high-quality, dignified living within the established suburb of Parkside. Located between Glen Osmond Road and Chinner Avenue, the project responds to a dual urban context – balancing the scale and activity of a major arterial road with the finer residential character of surrounding streets.
The design is shaped by Regis’ national design standards, prioritising resident wellbeing, operational efficiency, and a strong connection to landscape. A series of courtyards, terraces and light-filled communal areas sit at the heart of the proposal, providing choice, outlook and social engagement for residents, including a dedicated Memory Support Unit courtyard. The building form is broken into two main wings with upper levels stepped back to reduce visual mass and improve solar access, presenting a comfortable three-storey scale to Chinner Avenue.
Materiality draws on the tones of the adjacent Park Lands, with brick, textured precast and muted green and bronze metal cladding – creating a warm, contextual architectural expression. Sustainability is embedded throughout, with DSquared guiding ESD, a 99kW solar array, rainwater harvesting and climate-responsive façade design. Overall, Regis Parkside delivers a contemporary, landscape-led care environment integrated into the Parkside community.
