Three new projects are nominated for this year’s South Australian Architecture Awards, including Pembroke’s new environmental learning centre on the Finnis River, the Drink Dine Design bar for Hot 100 Wines 2017/18 and a new 2-storey 3 bedroom home situated on a 118m2 lot in Adelaide’s south west.
The new facility at Pembroke's Old Watulunga campus provides students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in outdoor education and recreation experiences. Situated at the top of the river rise, the building has been sited to maximise sustainable performance and to capitalise on views to the river and campsite. Read More
The Drink Dine Design bar with JamFactory at the Hot 100 SA Wines 2017/18 event created a unique and memorable space where guests could connect with the finalists of this year’s Emerging Designer Award and appreciate how design enhances great food and wine experiences. Read More
Castle Residence exemplifies the benefits of a design lead approach to overcome a range of constraints. Situated on a 118m2 landlocked allotment in Adelaide’s south-western corner, the concept for Castle was to “maximise the ground plane & respect the context”. Read More
Judging will commence on Saturday 24th March at the Office for Design and Architecture and the SA Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects on Leigh Street, Adelaide. This free event is open to anyone interested in hearing more about the latest architectural projects and a range of activities will be held out on Leigh Street for the day.
Director, Paul Gillett has been appointed as a member of the jury who will be assessing projects entered in the Urban Design, Public Architecture and Multiple Residential categories.
