ELIZABETH RAIL STATION DEVELOPMENT

Redevelopment of The Parks has adapted three existing facilities to create the base for a new urban precinct. Grieve Gillett Architects was responsible, in association with Renewal SA and DPTI for master planning and urban design together with the detailed design of the renovated buildings.

The majority of the existing buildings were removed. A new road network and central plaza opens lines of sight through the site, creating a safer environment allowing all new and existing buildings to share an address and create a sense of place.

The Sports Centre was provided with a new pool complex and the building was remodeled and renovated to provide flexible, BCA compliant spaces including a new entry and cafe.

The Theatres building was renovated and remodeled to provide disability access throughout.

The Children’s Centre, containing a kindergarten and pediatric health services was extended and renovated to improve the functionality and amenity of the internal spaces.
