ST JOSEPH'S TRANMERE NEW LEARNING STREET

INNOVATIVE LIGHT-FILLED LEARNING SPACES TO INSPIRE CREATIVE & COLLABORATIVE THINKING
Driven by pedagogical change, the St Joseph’s Tranmere Learning Street facilitates flexible classroom learning opportunities, team teaching and collaboration within class groups. Replacing ageing transportable buildings and classrooms, the three new light-filled classrooms are zoned with refurbished existing classrooms and connected by a new double height shared space. Designed to inspire creative and collaborative thinking, the communal zone offers breakout space for a variety of group learning opportunities.
Reconfiguration of the existing building has achieved value-for-money spatial efficiencies and resolved accessibility issues. A new tech lab offers primary schoolstudents access to 3D printing and green screen technology for engaging multimedia
learning experiences.
With the Learning Street at its core, a new central spine defines and connects the campus, extending from the public facing Parish Hall and Nature Play (completed in an earlier stage) at the south through to the newly acquired land in the north for future expansion. Part of a multi-stage masterplan, this development demonstrates the school’s commitment to student-centred innovative learning.
