This project involved extensive refurbishment of an existing 1970’s classroom block at Hamilton Secondary College, transforming it into a state of the art STEM Centre.
An exciting collaboration between Totalspace Design and the staff at Hamilton Secondary College, the end result is a unique space which facilitates 21st century learning. A strong focus of the interior design was the incorporation of flexible break out spaces, multi-purpose learning areas and technology.
The end result was a successful space for the end user, whereby the 4 teaching branches of STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths could be performed within a stimulating environment. The greatest highlight is the central nucleus known as ‘The Ideation Space’ where students congregate to share information and ideas.
The design is a great example of open learning, and set a new benchmark within education as an optimum teaching model.
